8 Outdoor Wedding Considerations

The past couple of years have been filled with weddings, and two weeks ago I went back to the motherland (Costa Rica) for my best friend’s wedding. The ceremony was in a small chapel and the beautiful reception was at the beach overlooking the ocean. Between this one and previous beach and outdoor weddings I’ve attended, I noticed several small details that I think every bride should consider for their outdoor wedding. Continue Reading…

Tomato and Basil Bruschetta

I had a love-hate relationship with bruschetta, because I loved eating it but failed at making it TWICE! The first attempt was for my bachelorette party. I used this recipe and I think the parmesan cheese made everything mushy, watery and not very appetizing. The second attempt was with this other recipe for a potluck party, but the whole flavor was a bit off in my opinion. I blame it on the cooked garlic and possibly the yellow cherry tomatoes.

For our last housewarming party, I wanted to give it one last try, and let me tell ya…third time’s a charm! I decided to use the second recipe again as a starting point for ingredient quantity, but made it my own. Continue reading

During this journey I kept track of the timeline and costs to keep myself organized and to share it with you guys. So here is a quick snapshot of the buying and selling costs and timeline. This is not what we planned!” face, so make a conscious decision to smile and let it go because the wedding day goes by too fast to get caught up in the small details. Now, since we are on the subject,  here are a five things that went “wrong” on my wedding day.
